Billing
You can ask us what something costs before you are treated, and you can ask us afterwards. This page tells you how, and what you are entitled to.
You can ask what something costs at any point.
Emergency treatment is never delayed over a price question.
Call and they will walk you through any statement.
Nothing on this page should delay emergency care. If you are having an emergency, come in or call 911 — the money is sortable afterwards, and a delayed emergency is not.
Call (480) 339-4825 and ask for standard charges. That reaches the billing team directly.
You can also ask at the registration desk when you arrive, or at any point afterwards. You do not need a reason and you will not be asked for one.
Federal law entitles you to a good faith estimate of what your care will cost, in most cases, before you receive it. You do not have to ask specially for this as a favour — it is a right, and the details are on Your Rights and Protections Against Surprise Medical Bills.
If your final bill comes in substantially above that estimate, you can dispute it. The thresholds and the window are set federally and are on the same page, with a link to CMS for the current figures.
We do not balance bill. Ever. Not for any patient, whatever insurance you have and whether or not you have any.
Not for any patient, with or without insurance. Our own policy, not just the law.
A good faith estimate costs nothing and does not commit you to anything.
Ask about cost at any point — many people do while they wait. Treatment does not wait on paperwork.
We are out of network with all insurance plans and we say so plainly rather than burying it — the whole arrangement, including why being out of network does not cost you more for emergency care, is set out on Billing & Insurance.
And if an out-of-pocket amount is the obstacle, HealthPass pays members' out-of-pocket costs for visits here — including visits already behind them. It is a separate company and it is not insurance.
Not evasiveness — an ER visit is not one item. What a visit costs depends on what turns out to be wrong: whether imaging was needed, which imaging, what the laboratory ran, what was treated and how long it took. Two people arriving with the same complaint can have very different visits.
That is exactly why the good faith estimate exists, and why the phone number above is more use to you than a number on a web page would be. Ask, and ask about your situation.

About your bill, before you worry about it
If something arrives from your insurance company after your visit, it is almost certainly not a bill. It is an Explanation of Benefits — a statement of what they paid. The large number on it is not what you owe.
For emergency care, federal law limits your share to the ordinary in-network copay, coinsurance and deductible your plan already sets. We do not bill you for the difference, and we never will.
If anything you receive is unclear, call us before you pay it. Our billing team would rather explain a statement than have you pay something you do not owe.
