About

Our Care Team

You are seen by a board-certified physician, every visit. That is the part worth knowing before you arrive, and it is true at every hour — there is no overnight or weekend arrangement where it stops being true.

Around them is the team that makes an emergency room work: nurses, radiology and laboratory staff, registration, and the people who will be the first face you see when you walk in at three in the morning.

The treatment corridor at El Mirage ER — patient rooms along one side and the nurses' station along the other.

A physician, every visit

Board-certified, at every hour of every day.

No overnight gap

The same standard at 3am as at 3pm.

Nobody is turned away

You are seen whatever your insurance.

The physician

Board-certified, and one sees you on every visit at every hour.

Nursing

Triage, treatment and the monitoring that happens between them.

Radiology and laboratory

The people who run the CT, the X-ray and the bench analysers.

Registration

The first face you see, whatever time you arrive.

The patient rooms run along one side of this corridor and the nurses' station along the other. It is a small department, and that is what it looks like.

What “board-certified” means here, and what it does not

It means the physician who treats you has completed residency training and passed the board examination in their specialty. It is a meaningful credential and not every facility can promise it on every visit.

What it does not mean is that every one of them is boarded in emergency medicine specifically. Alongside emergency physicians we bring in doctors from other specialties who have emergency experience, or who are moving into emergency medicine, and we train them for that transition.

We would rather tell you that than round it up into something tidier.

Who you will meet

Who is on shift when you arrive

You are seen by a board-certified physician, whatever hour you arrive — and which doctor that is depends on the shift. That is the honest answer, and it is why this page does not list a rota.

What we will not do is publish a roster that has gone stale. Emergency medicine is a rotating specialty; a page naming a physician who left six months ago is worse than a page that names nobody, because it looks like a promise about who will treat you.

If you want to know who saw you, it is on your discharge paperwork and in the patient portal. Patient Portal ↗

Leadership

These are the people who run the organisation rather than staff a shift. The physician who treats you is on the roster above; these are the names behind the building.

The model, in one paragraph

We are a freestanding emergency room, not a hospital and not an urgent care. We provide emergency treatment and stabilise you here, and if you need to be admitted or need hospital-level inpatient care, we arrange the transfer to a hospital.

We are not a pediatric emergency room, and we treat children every day. El Mirage and the cities around it have a lot of young families, and a large share of what comes through our doors is children.

About your bill, before you worry about it

If something arrives from your insurance company after your visit, it is almost certainly not a bill. It is an Explanation of Benefits — a statement of what they paid. The large number on it is not what you owe.

For emergency care, federal law limits your share to the ordinary in-network copay, coinsurance and deductible your plan already sets. We do not bill you for the difference, and we never will.

If anything you receive is unclear, call us before you pay it. Our billing team would rather explain a statement than have you pay something you do not owe.
